Copyright

  • Recipes can only be submitted to AceRecipe.com by registered members. All members should be aware of the following issues before submitting recipes to the site.

  • Due to their variable and changing nature, recipes are inherently difficult to copyright. For example:

  • A list of ingredients can not be protected by copyright

  • The exact wording for a method can be protected by copyright if it is deemed to be original.

  • Revising the wording for a known method does not breach the original author's copyright, provided the revised version does not copy a substantial part of the original wording.

  • A method could be considered original if it contains information personal or specific to the author e.g. "My father used to make this for me every day before I go to school..." or "I made this for my daughter who is now two years old...", although this is not a definitive test of whether or not the recipe is covered by copyright. All members who submit recipes to Best Recipes should use their own words to describe the method for a particular recipe. By all means acknowledge the original source of the idea, but the text of the recipe should be identifiable as your own.

  • If you believe a recipe on this site infringes on your copyright please contact us (admin @ acerecipe.com). Please include any additional information that supports your claim e.g. where your recipe was originally published, exact text of the method etc.
